Sweets

Preparing some sweets like Mysore Pak is little bit tricky, but not all. If you go with knowledge and practice, it becomes simple. Little practice will help to prepare suceessful sweets. Here are some of my favourite and some common traditional sweets of India.

Badam Puri deep fried puri coated with sugar syrup
Besan Laddu chana dal sweet balls, very easy to make sweet
Carrot Halwa (coconut / beetroot halwa) made from carrot , coconut and ricotta cheese
Classic Fruit Salad with whipped cream topping
Coconut Laddoo sweet coconut balls by Archana Hegde
Chivda  type of sweet coated with powdered sugar
Ellu Bella  special sweet prepared for "Sankranthi" festival
Gulamba sour and sweet raw mango jam
Gulab Jamoon  delicious Indian dessert, sweet cheese ball dumplings in sugar syrup
Holige very tasty sweet, dal and jaggery stuffing inside roti
Karchi Kai deep fried roti with sweet stuffing
Kesar Pedha made from milk and saffron
Kheer
sweetened boiled saffron milk served hot or chilled
Karigadabu (Kadabu) special sweet prepared for Ganesh Festival
Kesaribhath  
tasty sweet saffron rice
Mysore Pak famous sweet from Karnataka
Modak
very special and must have sweet  for Ganesh Festival
Ras Malai cheese balls in sweet milk
Rava Laddu simple and all time favorite semolina balls
Shavige Payasa vermicelli in milk with cashew and cardamom flavor
Shankar Pole made from all purpose flour and goes well with evening chai/coffee
Shrikhand sweet yogurt with saffron served with puri
Shira  semolina cooked in milk and sugar, very fast and easy to make sweet
Wheat Halwa
