Thogari Nucchina Unde (Steamed Toor Dal Balls) - by Mekhala Nagabhushan

Ingredients:

Toor dal - 1 cup
Finely chopped Green chilies - 5/6 nos
Finely diced onion - 1
Fresh grated coconut - 1/2 cup
Chopped cilantro - 2/3 sprigs
Salt to taste

Method:

Soak dal for a couple of hours or until soft. Grind coarsely in a food processor with minimum amount of water. To this ground mixture add all the remaining ingredients and mix well.

Take a fist full of the mix and squeeze out extra water (if any, shape into oval/oblong balls and steam in the pressure cooker for 7-8 mins.

You can use greased idli plates for steaming.

Allow the pressure cooker to stand for 8-10 minutes. Serve with melted ghee and plain punjabi khadi or majjige huli.
