Maddur Vada Karnataka's this famous and special appetizer

This recipe comes from Shilpa Venkatesh, New Jersey, USA

Ingredients:

Maida - 1 cup
Rava (semolina) - 1 cup
Rice flour - 1/2 a cup
Salt - to taste
Red chilli powder - to taste
Curry leaves - finely chopped
Coconut grated ( optional) - a handful
Hing (asafoetida) - a little
Oil for frying

Method:

Mix all the above ingredients and leave the dough for 1/2 hour.

You can either roll it with a rolling pin or pat it in hand into a shape of small puris and deep fry them as frying is done for ordinary vada until golden brown.

Sambar or any spicy chutney will be good accompaniment to this.
